THE JOURNEY OF BRINGING
This Project began as a way to create something that would bring together two core passions of mine; music and community. I felt I could best accomplish this through orchestrating and managing a live music event involving the Yarra Valleys finest musicians, venue and experience.
With the constant energy and support provided by my incredibly talented, passionate mentor Chelsea McNab
I had successfully coordinated and prepared a HOTT GIG with funk, jazz and rock, consisting of my own performance accompanied with my dad and an extended band, as well as legendary local bands like;
SMOCK STACK RHINO
I had an amazing local venue, catering for 100 people planned down to details about the price of which foods and which stores near me, staging setup, sound equipment, set list, mc notes, runsheets and promotion, selling tickets to my official
Rochfords Marketing & Event Manager
Catherine De Cieri reached out to my mentor Chelsea regarding information on my event. Through getting in contact and discussing my aims for my event we decided on a collaboration.
I was so privileged to work with Cat in developing an even better version of Fruition located at the Rochford Concert Lounge and winery.
Unfortunately, due to the current state of being locked down within a global pandemic, the law did not favor me orchestrating my project soly around the idea of gathering and in the intrest of technicalities I was not able proceed with my planned music event at its current location as it was classified a residency.
I planned and explored many alternative options in terms of locations.
In the final weeks before our final product was due I explored all my options thoroughly for how I could possibly achieve anything close to what I had originally intended with the limited time and resources I had.
My idea for a live session, prerecorded came together within the 7 days before the due date. With the help of a very talented camera man; Michael Shoell and sound engineer Howard Chaston I was able to meet and perform with just my dad; our original set list for the event night, hoping to give just a snippet of what my music event night could have involved.
I am super ecstatic with my recorded live session and even though I didn't get to bring people together through music with a music event night, I still feel as though I achieved this in so many different ways to what I expected and I am so grateful for how much I learnt through the ever evolving journey and so am so grateful to the people who supported me through it.
Unfortunately, due to the current state of being locked down within a global pandemic, I still could not engage in creating any sort of social gathering and had to once again cancel an entirely established music event.
